Introduction to CUSAT CAT 2021:

  • About: CUSAT CAT is a national level exam conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology, for admission to BBA, B.Tech, LLB, M.Tech, M.Phil, MCA, MBA, MA, M.Sc and other programs, at all the colleges under it. 

  • Conducting Authority: Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) conducts the Common Admission Test (CAT), Lateral Entry Test (LET), Department Admission Test (DAT), Group Discussion and Interview (if applicable) for admission to its various programmes. 

  • It has 27 departments for UG, PG, and research programs. It has 3 campuses: two in Kochi district and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha District of Kerala in India. 

  • Courses Offered: CUSAT offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.  CUSAT also offers Dual Degree Programmes and lateral entry to various B.Tech courses.

  • Frequency: The CUSAT CAT exam is held once a year at various exam centres.

  • Enrollment: Nearly 2000 students take admission every year in various UG and PG programmes at CUSAT.

CUSAT 2021 Application Form

Candidates can check details about CUSAT 2021 application form from below:

  • Application form will be released through online mode.
  • Candidates will be able to fill their application forms from February 2021.
  • Fill all asked details in the application form including education, personal, communication etc.
  • Upload documents i.e. photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • Application form will be submitted till second week of April 2021.
  • Those candidates who will apply based on the GATE and MAT must email soft copy of score card to CUSAT.
  • There will be no need to send any hardcopy of the application to university.
  • Take printout of the filled application form and keep it safe for other process.

Application Fee:

  • Application fee will be submitted through online mode using credit card/ debit card or net banking.
  • Application fee will be non-refundable.

CUSAT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check CUSAT eligibility before applying for the exam:

B.A.LLB (Hons.)/ B.Com LLB (Hons.):

  • Qualification: Candidates must pass 12th class examination from any recognized board.
  • Marks Criteria: Candidates must secure minimum of 60% (55% for arts or commerce) marks in their qualifying exam.

B.Tech with Integrated M.sc:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 from any recognized board.
  • Marks: Candidates must obtained 50% marks in their 12th class and 50% marks in mathematics subjects.

B.Tech Marine Engineering:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 from any recognized board.
  • Marks: Candidates must obtained 50% marks in their 12th class and 50% marks in mathematics subjects.
  • Qualification: Candidates must pass intermediate examination or equivalent.
  • Marks: Candidates must secure 60% marks in PCM and mathematics subjects and 50% marks in mathematics only.

LLM Courses:

  • Qualification: Candidates must pass bachelor’s degree in law from any recognized institute.
  • Marks: Candidates must secure 45% marks in their qualifying degree.

CUSAT 2021 Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: Examination will be conducted through online (CBT) mode.
  • Type of Question: Multiple choice questions will be asked.
  • Number of Questions: Total 250 questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Duration: Examination will be conducted in 3 hour duration.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct response 3 marks will be awarded.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
